Pax Is 1
Pax has turned one year old. We did it! We were able to take such good care of him that he is still alive one year later! We are super proud! I don't think I've ever been happier. Every time he looks at me I have to smile and be happy because I want him to smile and be happy too. It's a nice positive feedback situation to be in for sure. I think I have done a half decent job recording his life progress so far in my database. He will know things like; the first time he rolled over, sat up, stood, hold his own bottle, climbed the stairs, took steps, took a sip of beer, etc, etc. We also probably have 5 billion pictures and videos of him. It's ridiculous really. Everyone loves him because he is so cute. I can't wait to see how this next year pans out. What else will he do / learn? All I know is that I will do all that I can do be the best parent possible for him.

Keep the Animals Out of it

I don't know what kind of person this guy is and maybe I shouldn't but I feel really bad for him. He's going to be more severely punished for whatever he did wrong then he should be.
First off why do the police even need dogs. I thought they were to sniff for drugs. Who in their right mind finds an animal and trains it to attack other people? Oh, our American police force. Yeah that sounds like a great idea. Will people start to object to this if they start training alligators and lions and elephants to attack its citizens? Isn't that what the drug lords do in Mexico? Does anyone think that is a good idea? I know I don't.
Not only that but when inevitably something happens to said animal, they got the balls to blame the guy for defending himself? You are the one that put that animal in danger. Not him. You sent it after a fellow human. Not him. I can understand sympathy for it being hurt and all but to then go and use that public opinion to more harshly penalize people that are unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It should be surprising to no one that if you send an animal to attack someone that person is not going to stand there and let it happen. If something is chewing on my appendages I am going to do whatever it takes to get that to stop immediately.
Since lately it seems the police can do whatever they want to their citizens including shooting and killing them with no penalty they are also now trying to put the rights of animals over people as well.
I know I'm probably in the minority here but this is the biggest crock of shit I've ever seen. KEEP THE ANIMALS OUT OF IT. We are already a violent, horrible race that doesn't seem to care too much about our own. No need to take other species down with us. There must be a major source of profit in this somewhere or someone benefited politically from this.

Your non-caring really bugs me
Ok here is a bloggy thing to blog about - A Cause. This is something that really bothers me and I want to set the record straight as far as my stance and what I feel about this.
Why is it that people think it is okay to litter and throw their cigarette butts on the ground (or where ever) when they are done smoking? Don't they know that is disgusting? I will not abide while you think there is nothing wrong with that. It seems to me that even people that are against littering in general don't have much of a problem with cigarette butts, like they are exempt for some reason. It is not hard at all to pop out the remaining burning part when finished and put the butt in the trash, your pocket, the ashtray, anywhere but the ground!!
It is because you can just walk away from it and not have to see what you've done that makes it okay? I don't understand this behavior and I feel bad for us and the planet that this is something that is almost acceptable. You throw your McDonald's bag on the ground and a cop might write you a ticket for littering (or at least make you pick it up!!) but you flick a butt in the grass and hardly anyone bats an eye?! I wonder if you'd pay attention if when stopped at a stop light and you flick your butt out the window if I got out of my car behind you, picked it up off the ground and flicked it back in your car.
I'm more concerned with this writing to speak
more about the littering aspects of this habit rather than go off about everything else but I will say that it's about time that the education about the harm of cigarette's is getting around. It took long enough but I can say with the way things are going every 10 years the number of smokers should be half. I have great confidence that, despite the somewhat inconsiderate smoking habits that the mother of my son has shown in the time I knew her, Isaac will probably never pick up this vice. Maybe as we go along more people will care about this issue.
At least there is something that those of us who are bothered by this can do now, today! There is a website, Litterbutt.com that allows you to create a log in and submit license plate info for people who see who throw their butts out the car window. There is more info there about how it works and what they do with it (Sends them a polite letter that basically says, HEY, WE SAW THAT, DON'T DO IT AGAIN PLEASE!) but I encourage everyone to go to this site and participate. If these people don't think anybody cares what they are doing then they will just keep doing it. A tiny little thing that could do so much good if everyone just did it.
